Manav Rachna took part in the celebration of birth anniversary of Russian Scientist Vladimir Vernadsky at RCSC
Manav Rachna Educational Institutions took part in the event held at Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC), New Delhi to celebrate the 155th birth anniversary of the outstanding Russian Scientist, Academic and Geo-chemist Vladimir Vernadsky on March 14, 2018. Asst. Prof. Umesh Dutta (Deputy Director, MRIIC) and Dr. B.M Bahal (Dean, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Manav Rachna University) took part in this event.
Mr. Umesh Dutta through his presentation threw light on the substantial contribution to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series and continued fractions made by Srinivasa Ramanujan. He referred to Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose who pioneered the investigation of radio and microwave optics. One of the fathers of radio science, Sir Jagdish also invented Crescograph, a device for measuring the growth of plants. Mr. Dutta also spoke about the researches done by Sir Har Gobind Khorana, Nobel Laureate. He mentioned the research that showed the order of nucleotides in nucleic acids, which carry the genetic code of the cell and control the cell’s synthesis of proteins.
The event has also witnessed the presence of following eminent people:- Mr. Aleksey Shaposhnikov (Head of Science and & Technology Section, RCSC), Dr. Rajesh (Professor at IIT), Mr. Vimal Mehta (Head of Citizen’s Film Forum and FIPA), Dr. Vivek Gupta (renowned cardiologist) and Ms. Mandira Ghosh (Poet, Author and Educator).
