Manav Rachna organizes National Nutrition Week 2018
Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Applied Science, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) is celebrating National Nutrition Week from 1st to 7th September, 2018 at its campus. The National Nutrition Week (NNW) is an annual nutrition event initiated by Food and Nutrition Board, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India.
The theme for this National Nutrition Week 2018 is “ENSURING FOCUS INTERVENTION ON ADDRESSING UNDER NUTRITION DURING THE FIRST THOUSAND DAYS OF THE CHILD: BETTER CHILD HEALTH”.
A Healthy Recipe Competition was conducted today on the theme- “COOKING WITHOUT FIRE” with K.L Mehta Dayanand College, MRIIRS, Institute of Hotel Management, PUSA, Rajguru College as participating colleges. The winning recipe was Ravioli El Fruta from IHM Pusa. The 1st runner up was from Rajguru College who prepared Bread Dahivada as nutritious entry. The 2nd runner up was from MRIIRS, and the recipient prepared Fig & Dated Laddoo. One prize for commendable efforts was given, o to a participant from K.L. Mehta Dayanand College. The prizes were distributed by the judges and Head of Department of Nutrition and Dietetics to the winners. Merit certificates were given to all entries.
The recipes were delectable and the judges had tough time to zero in on the winners.
Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Applied Science, MRIIRS also organized a Workshop on “Proactive and Remedial Health Management through HASTA MUDRA, YOGA and PRANAYAMA” by Mr. D.C Chaudhry, Advisor, Dr. O P Bhalla Foundation and Faridabad Navchetna Trust.
He started his talk by HASTA MUDRAS THERAPY – FIVE FINGER CONCEPT.
