Manav Rachna International University declared as MODEL and Stand Alone Centre for Sports Skill Training by the Sports Skill council
Manav Rachna International University (MRIU) is now declared as Model and Standalone Centre for Sports Skill Training by NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation) and SPEFL (Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Council). This is a matter of immense pride for Manav Rachna considering its sports-centric curriculum and its constant endeavour to provide holistic development and quality education to its students.
Considering the current need to impart training to the youth and fulfill the demands of skilled personnel, Faculty of Applied Science, MRIU, has joined hands with SPEFL (Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Council) – Sports Skill as a training partner for the Training of Trainers (ToT) program. SPEFL is an independent sector skill council (SSC) under NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation) with the main objective of providing skills training in sports and its allied fields. SPEFL also attempts to broadbase sports in India and build a bridge between sports, physical education, fitness and leisure.
Such associations will make the key stakeholders in the industry and experts in India work towards setting up a strong base and create a suitable connect between industry demands, training provided and the skills available. According to Wg. Cdr Satish Aparajit, SC (Rtd),CEO, Sports Sector Skill Council, the prestigious recognition has been granted to MRIU in view of its extensive sports infrastructure, excellent training facilities and learning faculties. Dr Amit Bhalla, Vice President, MREI believes that the recognition will give Manav Rachna the opportunity to work towards Sports Skill Training in a scenario where segments of the sports industry offer additional avenues for varying career paths.
