Manav Rachna hosts this year’s first Indian Microsoft Imagine Camp
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. To kickstart the preparations for the next big Microsoft Imagine Cup, team Infi Spark and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) organized India’s first one-day Microsoft Imagine Camp today at Manav Rachna to guide students on their path of winning the Microsoft Imagine Cup.
Microsoft Imagine Cup, popularly known as the Olympics of Technology is the global technology and innovation competition hosted by Microsoft every year which provides students a chance to win cash prizes, mentoring, and more. The virtual meet was addressed by tech gurus including Mr. Venkatesh Sarvsiddhi, Senior Head- Digital Skills, Innovation, Partnerships & CSR at NSDC; Ms. Indrani Chaudhary, Chief Learning Officer, Microsoft India; Mr. Abhimanyu Saxena, Co-Founder, Scaler Academy; Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, MD, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI); Dr. Umesh Dutta, Director, Manav Rachna Innovation & Incubation Centre; among others.
Mr. Venkatesh Sarvasiddhi said, “Imagine Cup has always been the most happening event of the year at Microsoft, it is here to drive the skilled young minds in achieving the best of their capabilities. The imagine camp is being held for the first time at MREI but it will be followed by more such camps throughout the nation. India is a country with more than 40,000 higher educational institutions and Microsoft offers an incredible opportunity for each one of them. Startups in India are intended for a huge population and we are here to grow together with the skilled mindsets of our youth and their incredible ideas.”
It is noteworthy that Manav Rachna students had won the second prize in the world finale of Microsoft Imagine Cup 2019 and own a long tradition of exemplary performance at the coveted event.For two consecutive years, teams from MREI made it to the Global Finals of the Microsoft Imagine Cup; while for four consecutive years, a team from MREI made it to the National Finals of the tournament.
Dr. Sanjay Srivastava inaugurated the camp and said that“I would like to thank NSDC, and Microsoft for this wonderful opportunity and at Manav Rachna we take the role to nurture the future champions with a motto to bring a difference we wish to see in this world. For the past 9 years, our students have marked their presence at various international and national events which have led us to where we stand today.”
