We have a special policy that is very supportive to such players. We have a deep focus on sports and have state-of-the-art sports infrastructure. Very recently, the President of the National Rifle Association of India inaugurated another Olympic level shooting range at the campus.”

Manav Rachna, the State Government and the Sports Authority of India have been very supportive in this journey of reaching to the World No. 1 spot. When I joined Manav Rachna in 2014, I did not have any big medal. There are very few Universities like Manav Rachna that completely support sportspersons in their higher education and I owe it to them”.
Mr. Sarkar Talwar read out a special citation for Ankur Mittal.
Ankur brought laurels for the country in one after another back to back international matches from the beginning of this year. Showing his best form, Ankur first won silver medal in ISSF World Cup held in the month of February in India and immediately after that in next World Cup he bagged Gold medal in Acapulco of Mexico. In Asian Championship, he again targeted the yellow metal and displaying his excellence in shooting among top shooters of the world he broke his own National record ( 144/150) made in Germany in 2014 after making a score of 145/150 during ISSF World Championship in Moscow in September 2017. He was the top scorer of the Championship in Double Trap event and thereafter bagged Silver Medal. With his outstanding performances, he succeeded to take a leap in the World ranking and became the second Indian who achieved it after his senior and country`s ace shooter Ronjan Sodhi.
A management student, Ankur wants to help his father Ashok Mittal (also a double trap shooter) in business after completing his studies.
