Manav Rachna family pays tribute to Founder Visionary Dr. O.P. Bhalla
September 16, the day when Founder Visionary Dr. O P Bhalla left for his heavenly abode was a solemn day for the Manav Rachna family. The day began with a hawan which ushered in a somber mood with bhajans adding to the pious surroundings of the early morning peace at Dr. O P Bhalla Memorial Sthal, fondly known as the ‘Prerna Sthal’ situated in the midst of the Manav Rachna campus.
During his lifetime, Dr. O P Bhalla initiated many activities for the upliftment of the society. Following the footsteps of this great social reformer, the entire Manav Rachna family participated whole-heartedly in a two-day (September 15 & 16) Mega Blood Donation camp across various locations at the campus.
On the second day of the Blood donation camp, around 200 units of blood was collected. The drive on the second day was conducted by the Samanvay Parivar Trust along with the Lions Club of Faridabad under the aegis of Dr. O. P. Bhalla Foundation.
It is noteworthy that around 1,350 units of blood were donated on Day 1. Overall, 1,550 units of blood was collected over the two-day drive.
Enthused by the wide-spread participation at these social drives, Dr. Amit Bhalla, Vice President, MREI said: “Manav Rachna is an embodiment of Dr O.P. Bhalla’s heart and soul. It fills me with immense satisfaction, that his mission, vision and goals mean so much to so many people, both known and unknown, as they work tirelessly to actualize his dreams.”
As a part of the series of events organized in the memory of Dr. O P Bhalla, a Bone Marrow Registration Drive was also held on September 14 along with Jeevandayini Social Foundation in technical collaboration with Datri, India’s largest Stem Cell Donor Registry. The drive saw a record 93 registrations from the young students at the campus!
