5 June, Faridabad: Dr. M.P. Poonia, Vice Chairman, AICTE, graced the unveiling and launch of Manav Rachna University’s first edition of E-Magazine ‘Allurance’ where he emphasized that, “Today we all are at the brink where necessary steps need to be taken for the environment and I am glad to be here at the forum of Manav Rachna where the name itself says that students are working not just for a degree and employment but to make this world a better place to live in. I am happy that there is a university that is working for peace and sustainability.”
A three-day Virtual International Conference on ‘Recent Advances and Challenges in Sports Rehabilitation’ is being organized by the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) in collaboration with University of Sharjah, UAE; National University of Physical Education and Sports, Ukraine; An Nasher University, Indonesia; University of Sains, Malaysia, and International Association of Physical Education & Sports. A total of 8 internationally & nationally renowned speakers lent support to this historical virtual conference. The Conference was inaugurated amidst the gracious presence of eminent personalities and almost 400 participants.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, VC, MRIIRS; Prof. (Dr.) GL Khanna, Pro Vice-Chancellor, MRIIRS; Prof. (Dr.) Moattar Raza Rizvi, Dean Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, MRIIRS and the Chief Guest Prof. Olha Borsoya, Vice-Rector, the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sports, Ukraine.
In the next phase of the inaugural session, three Memorandum of Understanding were signed between MRIIRS and National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sports Ukraine; Nasher Institute of Health Sciences and Asiyiah Polytechnic, Indonesia; Cahaya Padma Kumara Foundation, Indonesia for Research, faculty and Students exchange opportunities.
The Guest of Honour Chief Guest Prof. Olha Borsoya, Vice Rector, National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sports, Ukraine shared her thoughts on the theme of conference and motivates the committee with her kind words.
In his address Dr. Sanjay Srivastava emphasized on the academic impact of the conference and that the learning should never stop. He stressed the importance of the word “TEAM” in the field of sports.
In the first session of the conference Dr. Hairul Anuar Hashim, Deputy Dean, School of Health Sciences, University Sains Malaysia, Malaysia presented his keynote address on Utility of Progressive Muscle Relaxation in Sports and rehabilitation. He talked about his reaches and presented the agenda for future researches in this field. Dr. Kiran Kulkarni, Consultant, Sports and Exercise Medicine Specialist, AFC Medical & Doping Control Officer, Indian Fitness academy, Bengaluru, Indi presented his paper on Sports Injuries: Prevention and Management. Dr. Oleksandr Krasilshchikov, Professor, School of Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia presented his talk on Tackling Injury Management: Optimizing Interdisciplinary Approach and Dr. Ir.Suhariningsih, Lecturer, Airlangga University, Indonesia, spoke on The Non-Invasive Use of AES-05 Spike Wave Electro stimulators in Sport for Improving Muscular Endurance.
In the second session Nikanorov Oleksii, Professor, Department of Physical Therapy, National University of Physical Education and Sport, Ukraine presented his keynote address on the Features of the Physical Therapy process conduction in the playing sports.
Dr. Dobson Dominic, HoD, Saveetha Institute of Sports Medicine & Sports Science, Chennai, India, presented research On-Field Management of Catastrophic Sports Injuries. Dr. Vivek Chauhan, Professor Dolphin Institute of Biomedical and Natural Sciences, Dehradun, India present paper on Groin Strain Pre-Rehab & Post Rehab in Kabaddi Players and Dr. Rahul Tiwari, Lead Biomechanist, Sports Authority of India, Patiala, India discussed the understanding the connection between Kinetic and Kinematic in field hockey.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, Dr. O P Bhalla Foundation also organized a webinar on ‘Supporting Sustainable Environment’ where Team Eco Club joined as the guest speakers. The Foundation also planted a few more trees in the butterfly garden today. These plants are special species that will attract butterflies in the near future and hence will ensure the road of creating the butterfly garden.
The stalwarts in industry and academia also gathered today for deliberation on ‘Virtual Water – The Issues and Policy Implications in India. Virtual Water refers to the water that is embedded in commodities. Virtual water plays a role in economic trade and drought-proofing and its issues are related to contentious inter-basin/ inter-region transfer of water. There are arguments on the diabolical relation between virtual water and raging groundwater over-exploitation in India. Dr. Dipankar Saha, Chair Professor, CAWTM, MRIIRS and Advisor, Water Policy, PnP shared his invaluable thoughts with the august gathering and motivated all those who were present to take a stand today for a better tomorrow.
