The Department of English organized a ‘Literary Extempore’ as a part of the clan activity. Extempore is an impromptu speech that the participants are required to deliver on a topic given on the spot. The event was conducted to explore the talent of the students and to improve their public speaking. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the students.

The students spoke eloquently on a variety of topics pertaining to the broad spectrum of British Literature Early 20th Century. The event prompted the students to read and comprehend some of the important literary texts like D.H. Lawrence’s Sons and Lovers. The participants were judged on the basis of content, confidence, fluency, and overall impact. The competition was conducted well under the guidance of the faculty coordinator, Dr. Swati Chauhan.

The best three speakers were selected by Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of English. The winners of the event were-

I Prize– Simarjeet Kaur (Water Shark)

II Prize- Leeharika Jindal (Forest Rhino)

III Prize– Riya Kaushik ( Air Falcon)

In the end, Dr. Shivani Vashist Head of the Department appreciated the efforts of the students and guided the students to further improve their presentation and speaking skills.
