Literary Club Activity of BBA Department
The Literary club of Department of Business Studies had organized a Poetry Recitation competition on 6th Feb. 2017.
It was held in Room No. TT-11 from 1 o’clock onwards. Around 20 students from the BBA department took part. All poems were self composed and the theme was –
‘Stepping stones’-my journey from school to University
The event started with an introduction to poetry writing by Ms. Radha Pandit. She told the students that poetry is a creative form of expression and follows a kind of musical pattern. The rhyming words give it a lyrical form which makes a simple expression most wonderful to hear.
This was followed by a definition by the anchors Disha and Ranendra who asked each contestant to pick a number chit which was a fair way to decide the order of speaking.
The event was judged by Ms. Radha Pandit and Mr. Devashish Paul from the CDC department
It was a pleasure to hear the thoughts of the students and the true feelings about their school memories were shared. Most of the students adopted the rhyming style of poetry writing but Mayank Jain had a very distinct style of expressing his thoughts. His poetry was interspersed with sounds and exclamations which made it very interesting.
To choose the winners was a tough call as all students had tried their best.
It was a trip down memory lane for everyone and it turned out to be a great experience. Many students discovered another hidden talent of theirs and a few were motivated to explore their poetic side as well.
The winners of the event were:
1st prize- Shivali Chawla (BBA)G 2B
2nd prize- Sheetal Yadav (BBA)G 2A
Joshily Joseph (BBA)G IB
3rd prize- Mayank Jain (BBA)Banking
Mayank Niraula (BBA)G 2B
