Legal Aid Camp at Faridabad District Court
The Legal Aid Committee of Faculty of Law, Manav Rachna University visited the Faridabad District Court to assist District Legal Service Authority (hereinafter DLSA), Faridabad which comprised 21 members (20 student volunteers and one Professor). The objective behind this initiative was to create awareness and provide legal help to that section of the society who cannot afford legal help. A counter, i.e., registration desk was specially made for the people to attract them to share their problems. Further, Marketing practices were adopted by the committee members to sell handmade clocks, photo frames, etc. which were manufactured by the prisoners with the intention of generating an income for them.
Students interacted with people who required Legal help and explained to them the appropriate redressal mechanism they must adopt for getting a cost-effective and timely redressal. A street play was also prepared by a few officials over there, they gave the message of Legal and Social Aid very beautifully. Furthermore, the students got an opportunity to observe the proceedings of the Court and gain practical knowledge about the procedure. The visit was highly informative.
