The legal aid committee of the faculty of law in collaboration with DLSA (District Legal Services Authority) and in consonance with letter No. 12170- (LO/2019/MS/HALSA) decided to conduct the legal aid camp at Manav Rachna University, G-Block, Moot Court Room while following all the precautions given by the authorities to prevent any kind of spread of COVID 19.

An awareness campaign on Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in association with Haryana State Aids Control Society (HSACS) was conducted on April 12, 2021 at Manav Rachna University, Surajkund Road, Faridabad. A lecture was delivered by Advocate Nibrash Ahmed and he was accompanied by Sh. Jai Prakash, Para Legal Volunteer.

Key inputs from this lecture were:

· How and when the Constitution of India was enacted.

· Importance of Primary Document, i.e., Constitution of India in 21st century.

· Role of Fundamental Rights and if anyone Infringes any persons Fundamental Rights then what are the redressal mechanisms at Centre and State level.

· Importance of Article 39-A mentioned under Part IV of the Constitution and the efforts taken by our forefathers for enacting this particular article.

Further, Advocate Nibrash Ahmed introduced to the audience the hierarchy of Legal Services Authority in India and briefed them about the functions, Jurisdictions, Powers and the method of approaching them to the audience.

In last the committee distributed a book titled “Fundamental Duties” published by Haryana State Legal Services Authority amongst the audience and enumerated upon each duty to make a better understanding of every duty,

Speaker concluded by raising a justified point, i.e., “every human is well-versed with his Fundamental Rights, therefore we as Legal Services Providers find it more relevant to deliver lectures on Fundamental Duties”.

This Legal Aid and Awareness Camp was Conducted under the supervision of Mr. Shivam Gaur, Faculty-In-Charge, Legal Aid Society, MRU and was also Chaired by Ms. Chaitali Wadhwa, Faculty-In-Charge of the Centre for Excellence in Alternative Dispute Resolution, MRU. Keeping the wide spread of COVID in consideration, a limited audience of Twenty (20) people were present.
