Lecture on “Occlusion in Fixed Partial Dentures”
The Department Of Prosthodontics, Crown & Bridge and Implantology at Manav Rachna Dental College organized a lecture on ‘Occlusion in Fixed Partial Dentures’ recently by Dr. Moez I. Khakiani. The presenter delivered a very interactive lecture illustrating some of the most common problems faced by general dental clinicians. He emphasized on canine guidance and presented various real-life cases with pictures and videos to have a better understanding.
Every tooth restoration, extraction, prosthetic device and orthodontic treatment changes static and dynamic occlusion. Even the smallest occlusal interference is disruptive to the proprioceptors of the stomatological system. This can cause clenching or grinding resulting in the functional disorder of the craniomandibular system.
All the delegates took active participation in the lecture which was later followed by the question and answer session.
Dr. Moez I. Khakiani also gifted a copy of his published book ‘Clinical Fixed Prosthodontics’ to the library of Manav Rachna Dental College.
