Issued in Public Interest: My Vote My Power
Faculty of Media Studies and Humanities launched a campaign, ‘My Vote My Power’ on April 29, 2019. The objective of the campaign is to create awareness regarding the voting process and also to sensitize Faridabad community about the privilege of casting vote. It is also to inculcate a sense of responsibility amongst the Faridabad residents to avail the privilege and use their vote wisely.
Prior to the formal launching of the campaign, an interaction with Ms. Belina, City Magistrate & Election Officer Faridabad, was arranged at Manav Rachna campus on April 25, 2019. After briefing, students asked questions on wide and varied subjects regarding the election process, the use of VVPAT, C-Vigil and also the facilities being provided to senior citizens and physically handicapped at the polling booths.
Under the same campaign, the students of FMeH were invited by Ms. Belina to perform a “Nukkad Natak” on Elections. Around 15 students under the guidance of faculty members Ms. Tripti and Ms. Bhavna from RMR 107.8 performed the “Nukkad Natak” in the Huda Convention Centre, Sec-12, at Faridabad.
In pursuance of the awareness drive, students of Media Studies and English are visiting nearby villages and performing “Nukkad Nataks” and are also holding discussions, interviews and talks for the rural population.
