Intra University Debate Competition
A thought provoking Intra-University Debate Competition was organized for MRU and MRIIRS students by Department of English, Faculty of Media Studies and Humanities, MRIIRS on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day. The title of the competition was “Patriotism vis-a-vis Nationalism- Are we deviating”. The event was conducted to assess the sensitivity of the students towards the cause of the nation. More than 36 students from different departments of both MRIIRS and MRU participated in the debate competition.
The competition was adjudged by Ms. Radha Pandit, Ms. Shailja Naqvi, Dy. Director Radio Manav Rachna and Mr. Manoj Raut, HOD, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. The participants were judged on the parameters of logical arguments, presentation and clarity of expressions.
Winners who spoke ‘In the Favor of Motion’:
I- Shushti Suraesh, B.Tech, CSE -3rd year student, MRU
II- Muskan, B.Tech 3rd Year student
Winners who spoke ‘Against the motion’:
I- Sachin Chaudhary- B.Com Hons. 2nd year student
II- Vidit Misra- B.A.(Hons) English 1st year student
Namit Aman (MRU, B.Tech, CSE -3rd year) and Samarth (BAJMC, 2nd year) were chosen as the two best interjectors for asking relevant and meaningful questions.
