International Yoga Day Celebrated by DSW, MRIIRS
Peace and tranquility prevailed over the campus today as students and faculty members got together to practice yoga to mark the ‘International Yoga Day’. Organised in association with Morarji Desai Institute of Yoga (MDIY), Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India; the event was graced by Dr N C Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor; Dr M K Soni, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Mr R K Arora, Registrar; Mr Sarkar Talwar, Director Sports, MREI and several other dignitaries.
The day commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony followed by “Saraswati Vandana” and progressed further with the enlightening speeches by Dr N C Wadhwa and Dr M K Soni on the importance of Yoga in day-to-day life. Mr. Shravan Kumar, the yoga trainer of MDIY emphasized on the fact that yoga with proper guidance and training leads to the holistic well-being of body, mind and soul. An inspirational and motivating performance by the “Yoga of the Day” group was much appreciated. Mementos were presented to Dr Shalini Grover, Department of Applied Sciences and Mr Shravan Kumar from Ministry of AYUSH for their contribution.
