International Virtual Workshop on “Food Safety and Security”
Department of Nutrition and Dietetics organized an International Virtual Workshop on “Food Safety and Security”. Prof. Moattar Raza Rizvi welcomed all the dignitaries and participants. Prof. G. L. Khanna, PVC, MRIIRS, and Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Srivastava, MD, MREI spoke to the assemblage about food safety and security. Dr. Ravi Jadeja, Associate Professor & Food Safety Specialist at Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma, US was the first speaker of the day’s first session.
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics hosted a one-day Food Safety Training and Certification (FOSTAC) training, overseen by the FSSAI. The training covered the fundamentals of food safety and quality control measures and procedures for manufacturing, storage, and transportation. Dr. Indri Kusuma Dewi, Head of the Department, Health Polytechnic of Surakarta, Ministry of Health, Surakarta, as the day’s first speaker. The event’s second speaker was Dr. Shalini Sehgal, Associate Professor and AFSTI President at Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences in Delhi, India. Dr. Shailendra Singh Gaurav, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture at Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, was the day’s third speaker.
