International Media Conference at Manav Rachna
The Faculty of Media Studies & Humanities, (FMeH) Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) hosted its 2nd International conference today. The conference was a confluence of great minds with over 100 academicians and research scholars brainstorming over the topic ”Media, Language and Literature: Changing Concepts & Dimensions”. International papers were presented though the virtual mode. The papers have been complied in the form of proceedings that were released by the dignitaries.
Prof. (Dr.) Chandra Mohan, General Secretary, Comparative Literature Association of India was the Chief Guest for the conference.
Sh. K.G. Suresh, Director General, Indian Institute of Mass Communication was the Guest of Honour. While sharing his delight on the theme of the conference, Mr. Suresh said: “The quality and purity of the language in today’s era of social media has been compromised. Language holds the key to all communication and we must not compromise upon the basics for use across a particular medium of communication.”
Dr. N C Wadhwa, VC, MRIIRS talked about the evolving dimensions of media and how it has provided each individual with the opportunity of expressing his/her views. Also, present on the occasion was Dr. Neemo Dhar, Dean, FMeH.
The conference comprised seven technical sessions which were chaired by leading academicians including Prof. (Dr.) Omana Antony, Dean, School of Humanities, K.R.Mangalam University; Dr. Bandana Pandey, Professor, School of Media and Communication Studies; Galgotias University; Dr. C P Singh, Professor, University School of Mass Communication, I P University; Dr. Subhash Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, Manipal University, Jaipur; Dr. Atanu Mohapatra, Associate Professor & Chairperson, Center for Studies and Research in Diaspora (Independent Center), Central University of Gujarat; Dr. T.N. Dhar, Professor (Retd.), Department of English, University of Kashmir and Dr. Anju Sahgal Gupta, Professor, School of Humanities, IGNOU.
The conference gave the students an opportunity to update themselves on issues related to media and language in modern times.
