International Housekeeping Week 2019
On September 12, 2019 Department of Hotel Management, Faculty of Management Studies celebrated its fourth day of International Housekeeping Week 2019 with great zeal.
35 Students of first semester B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration went in a session that was organized by our Academic Partner – Hotel Crowne Plaza Okhla, New Delhi with two faculty members Dr. Rekha Maitra & Ms. Prachi.
Students and faculties were warmly welcomed by the Housekeeping Associate Mr. Vipin. A session at Opal (Banquet) was conducted by Assistant Housekeeping Manager Mr. Piyush and Mr. Vipin. The session started with an introduction of the students followed by a Quiz on various flowers that are used in making of flower arrangements in a hotel. Videos of flower arrangements and towel art were shown to the students for a better understanding and significance.
A demonstration on Flower Arrangements and Towel Art (like Sparrow, Jelly fish, Swan, Doll) were showcased.
After the completion of demonstration General Manager – Mr. Ranjan Banerjee, Executive Housekeeper – Ms. Parul and Training Manager of Crowne Plaza Okhla, Ms. Aarti Agnihotri thanked the students for being part of International Housekeeping Week and motivated students to excel in the industry and wished them good luck for their future endeavors.
This session to hotel turned out to be a great learning experience for the first year students. Students were elated to get the practical exposure while visiting the renowned property .The visit was highly appreciated by the students as it was educative too.
