Inter – Dental College Fest
The ‘Exuberance’ of Youth comes alive at the MRDC Inter-Dental College Fest!
Youth festivals have a flavour and energy all of their own. And in that ‘Xuberance-17’, the Inter-Dental College fest organized by Manav Rachna Dental College under the guidance of Principal Dr Arundeep Singh was surging with energy and vibrance. The Festival attracted students from as many as 11 dental colleges of Delhi and NCR such as Jamia Milia Islamia; ESIC,Rohini; PGI, Rohtak; IP university; Maulana Azad, Delhi and the like, all of whom participated with great zest and enthusiasm. The two-day event, held at the MRDC campus from 12- 13, April, 2017 had an interesting smorgasbord of events. In fact, the fest was all about showcasing students’ creativity and talent as they took part in Rangoli competition which was a fusion of colours, Dumb charades, Plaster mania in which students created artefacts using dentistry materials, Cinematography, Face painting, Nukkad natak and Photography on the very first day. Socially relevant themes like Environment, Women’s Empowerment, Problems of Human Society, Phases of Human Life and Honour Killing, Acid Attack and a Corruption-free society further gave a meaningful impetus to the event.
While Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, MD, MREI was the Chief Guest on the inaugural day, Dr. M.M. Kathuria, Trustee, MREI and Dr. N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU graced the occasion on the final day.
The Fest culminated with an equally impressive lineup of events on the second day as various activities like Nail Art, Fashion show, Solo and Group Dance competitions, Solo and Group Singing Competitions, got students suitably enthralled. The winners in each category were awarded with Trophy and Certificates.
Expressing deep appreciation at the event, Dr. Sanjay Srivastava said, “The Inter Dental College Fest is an exposition of youth power at its best. The Festival has given budding dentists the ideal platform to display their immense talent and potential bringing to light the holistic nature of our education system which is as much about academics as it is about extracurricular activities. The Fest has given students a wonderful break from routine paving the way for cherishable memories.”
Dr. N.C. Wadhwa was equally effusive in praise as he lauded students’ efforts and skills in making this event a huge success.
