MREI takes part in the 68th Republic day celebrations at the ‘Gantantra Divas Samaroha’ in Faridabad with a tableau focusing on innovation and the skilling of its students
Manav Rachna Educational Institutions celebrated Republic Day with much fanfare and patriotic zeal and sentiments. At the campus, a flag hoisting ceremony was observed with the national tricolor being hoisted and the singing of the national anthem by students, faculty and staff. On a wider scale, at the ‘Ganatantra Divas Samaroha’ held at the Sports Complex in Faridabad, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) dazzled with a tableau focusing on innovation and the skilling of its students. The day marked the 68th Republic Day celebrations in which Dr. Kamal Gupta, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Govt of Haryana, was the Chief Guest. Following the flag hoisting by Hon’ble Chief Guest and the singing of patriotic songs, parade, march past and a flurry of cultural programmes along with a P.T. display, there followed a brilliant tableau procession which was floated specially for the occasion.
MREI, known for offering its students a rich and incredible variety of opportunities where hands-on experiences and development of leadership skills are embedded in the system, took to displaying various innovative products designed and developed by its students. Themed on ‘Skilling Tomorrow’s Thought leaders’, the tableau was led by Ayush a 2nd year student riding an electric scooter that he himself conceptualized and assembled. He was followed by two Go-carts again fabricated by the students of MREI. On the tableau, students could be seen using engineering tools to work on their innovations, a robotic mural created by welding waste parts and students programming robots. The tableau was a reflection of MREI’s commitment towards the nation building process, amply evident in the strong entrepreneurial ecosystem prevalent in the campus in view of Hon’ble Prime Minister’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Skill India’ initiatives. The aim has been to bridge the gap between theory and practice so as to enable students to set up their own start-up enterprises. It is in this regard that Manav Rachna Innovation and Incubation Centre (MRIIC) is engaged in encouraging innovation and developing technology for new start-up enterprises besides providing direct mentoring and incubation support to the students. Some of MRIIC’s notable and award winning innovative projects displayed at the tableau included All Terrain Vehicle, Solar Powered Golf Cart and Efficycle. With innovation being a way of life at Manav Rachna, the tableau brought to light the fact that students have created products that are as unique as they are technology-driven, with benefits that are bound to impact the world at large.
