Industrial visit to JBM Group (N4 Plant), Gurugram
Students pursuing Mechanical Engineering Industry Integrated (in association with JBM) visited went on a one-day plant visit to NMPL, N-4 plant recently. HR Manager of the plant briefed students about the work and various production activities that took place at the plant and gave an idea about how the plant works. He also briefed the guidelines and rules to be followed in the plant. Students also met Manav Rachna Alumni who have joined that plant through placement.
Students were briefed about the plant layout chart and were informed that this plant mainly deals with the manufacturing of fixtures for the upcoming project. Various Fixtures for 1.8m & 2m cabin parts (Underbody, Side body, roof, front face) were also explained to the students. They learnt about the manufacturing process of rear axles for Maruti. Many inspection fixtures and special purpose machines were explained to the students along with various material handling and storage devices. Students also got the opportunity to do on-the-spot welding in the inner panel of doors of trucks and the process was explained to the students.
Thereafter, students were taught about the working, principle and calibration of Vernier height gauge, function of various measuring instruments was explained. Students also learnt about the CMM and its working, high accuracy, precision and its calibration system. Students were also taken to the fully automated station where a full cabin of truck was being assembled with the help of industrial robots.
It was an informative, interesting and a successful visit.
