Induction Programme for Senior Batches
During the Induction programme for Senior students of MRIIRS, a session on Anti-Ragging and Eradicaton of Ragging was organized during which the consequences of ragging were also discussed. The event was graced by Dr N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor-MRIIRS; Dr.M. K Soni, PVC- MRIIRS; Mr. R K Arora, Registrar-MRIIRS; Professor S. S. Tyagi, Dean, FCA-MRIIRS. The objective of this session was to sensitize students about ragging and apprise them of the anti-ragging measures that have been implemented at the campus. Mr R K Arora talked at length about the Supreme Court’s role in framing anti-ragging measures, about UGC’s regulations on curbing the menace along with states issuing ordinances for taking up ragging as a serious issue in the higher institutions of learning.
Dr. M. K. Soni informed the gathering about Manav Rachna’s anti-ragging committees, squads, monitoring cells and CCTV coverage of ragging prone zones. Dr N.C. Wadhwa, echoed his thoughts: “Our intention is to create a conducive ambience in the campus to make students’ academic life rich and sound.” The event also witnessed showcasing of Documentary Videos posted on UGC website which reinforced the evils of ragging all the more.
Prof. S K Bedi, Dean FCBS and FMS, Director IQAC conducted a session on Quality Initiatives and International Education and apprised the students about the Quality assurance initiatives being followed. He said the teaching-learning process aims at maintaining the desired level of quality in education by means of attention to every stage of process of knowledge creation and delivery.
The next session was taken by Col Girish Sharma, Director, Planning and Coordination, MREI. He briefed about MRIIRS collaboration with International Universities like Curtin university, Australia, Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Finland etc. He also briefed that various online lectures and webinars are conducted from eminent scholars and professors from abroad. He concluded by informing students about ERASMUS+, a site where all information regarding international education could be accessed.
