Inaugural session of STC on ‘Open Source Platforms for IoT and Applications’
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, FET, MRIIRS has organized a five day Short-term Course (STC) on “Open Source Platforms for IoT and Applications” from 30th July to 3rd August 2018. The STC was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. N.C. Wadhwa, VC, MRIIRS; Dr. M.K. Soni, Pro-VC, MRIIRS; Sh. R.K. Arora, Registrar, MRIIRS; Dr. Krishna Kant, ED and Dean, FET, MRIIRS. Dr. Dipali Bansal, Associate Dean, FET & Head of ECE Department, welcomed the participants.
STC has participants (students, research scholars and faculty members) from MRIIRS and universities including Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar; K R Mangalam University, Gurgaon; G D Goenka Univeristy, Gurgaon and BSA ITM, Faridabad.
Dr. Krishna Kant discussed the evolution, importance and exciting features of IoT in detail. He also briefed about the need of regulatory frameworks for security and privacy issues in IoT by citing different examples. Dr N.C. Wadhwa enlightened the audience by informing about the importance of short terms courses as it becomes imperative for faculty members to upgrade their knowledge and competencies on continuous basis. This can only enhance the research and consultancy opportunities in turn.
The course has been designed to provide an opportunity to students, faculty in service and research scholars to keep themselves abreast of the latest advances inInternet of Things. Hands-on laboratory sessions will be conducted during the five days. The five-day course will have sessions on Internet of Things, Python Programming, Security issues with IoT and lR Programming.
