Ideation on environment conservation at the meeting of Haryana Environment Protection Foundation (HEPF)
The Haryana Environment Protection Foundation (HEPF) organized a crucial meeting to deliberate upon the ways and means to associate people across various sections of the society in the agenda of Environment conservation.
Present on the occasion wereSh.Gopal Arya, National Coordinator of Environment Protection, DeenDayalUpadhyay Research Institute& Patron of HEPF; Dr. Krishan Kumar, District Convener, RSS; Mr. Sumit, OSD to CM of Haryana; Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI); Dr. Amit Bhalla, VP, MREI;and several other thought leaders who have been working towards the protection of various aspects of environment.
Under the banner of HEPF; dedicated committees have been working closely on awareness and sensitization programs. Zonal level meetings of Principals, Headmasters, Heads of Government and Private Schools along with student representatives have been conducted across three zones of Faridabad by the education group of HEPF comprising Dr. N C Wadhwa, DG-MREI; Ms. Sanyogita Sharma, Director Principal, MRIS; Sh. S. S. Gussain, State President, Haryana Progressive Schools Conference;Mr. SureshChander and Sh. Dev Prasad Bhardwaj, President, Haryana Unit of Vidya Bharti. Video case studies, presentations, tutorials are being used to sensitize the youth of the city.
Sh. Gopal Arya appreciated the efforts being put in by the various committees of HEPF. He said: “Action on environment conservation does not rest with the government alone. Awakening individuals in doing their bit is the need of the hour”. The “I AM THE CHANGEMAKER” campaign of HEPF was widely appreciated as a means of involving every member of society.
The industrial committee of HEPF comprising Sh. Rajeev Chawla, Chairman, IamSME of India; Sh B R Bhatia, President, FIA and Sh. Narender Agarwal, MD, Shivalik Prints proposed ways and means to reduce pollution from industrial units. The best practices adopted by few industries were also shared at the platform.
Similarly, committees representing Religious Institutions; RWAs and NGOs are working on awareness programs in their respective domains. To ensure that all walks of society are equally represented in the mission of achieving a zero waste lifestyle, a Mahila Shakti group with its concept of “Magic Circles” is bringing together women. The committee has worked on natural products and concepts that shall be the replacement of daily household chemical products.
