HR Roundtable of industry geniuses from premier industries held at Manav Rachna
Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) organized virtual HR RoundTable today under the mentorship of Strategic Mentoring Board (SMB) at Manav Rachna, chaired by Mr. S Y Siddiqui, Executive Advisor, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. and led by Mr. Rajeev Dubey, Former Group President (HR & Corporate Services) & CEO (After- Market Sector), Member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. This vibrant platform and mega event brought together eminent HR and business leaders to discuss the shift in leadership, and what the HR leading lights can do in order to remain relevant.
The Roundtable comprised three enlivening panel discourses with 20+ crème-de-la-crème: Panel 1- Value Based Leadership; Panel 2- Women on Board: Creating a Level Playing Field; and Panel 3- Entrepreneurial Leadership. The panel discussions heard premier personalities including Mr. Suresh Tripathi, Former Vice President Human Resource Management, Tata Steel Ltd.; Dr. Santrupt Misra, Group Director, Birla Carbon; Director, Chemicals, & Director, Group H.R. of the Aditya Birla Group; Mr. K. S. Bhullar, Former President, Group HR, Anand Group, Executive Coach & HR Advisor; Ms. Ester Martinez, CEO & Editor in Chief, People Matters; Ms. Sangeeta Talwar, Managing Partner, Flyvision Consulting LLP; Mr. Inder Walia, Former Group Director – HR, Bharti Enterprises Ltd., Senior Advisor, Strategic Initiatives and Projects; Mr. Nishchae Suri, President, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa, EdCast; Ms. Anuranjita Kumar, Founder and CEO, Wit-ACE; and Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Global CEO, EnglishHelper. Mr. Ashok Taneja, Managing Director & Chief Mentor, Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd was the Key Speaker for the event.
Sharing his words of wisdom, Mr. S Y Siddiqui said, “In today’s time, the role of leaders is quite complex, but during Covid-19, it posed challenges to the top leadership of corporates. Some key leadership paradigms emerged during these adverse times, i.e. compassionate leadership with empathy, listening leadership as the key perspective, purpose-driven leadership, purpose with a mutual goal, distributed leadership, leadership with orientation, ethical and value-based leadership, and Visionary leadership, and we are moving forward to it”.
Mr. Ashok Taneja in his keynote address said that people are our biggest asset and how we treat this asset is important. Internet and digitization are the root cause of disruption and are the changing the way we work and act. He talked about the different generations and spoke about the work culture Gen Z and Gen Millennial is aspiring to work in.
The Manav Rachna HR Roundtable provided a forum for industry and academia to brainstorm, uncover discernments and provide new leadership solutions. It threw light on changing models of leadership, what has shifted and what should be adopted. It offered opportunities for thought leadership dialogue, collaboration and knowledge-sharing to provide actionable and easy practices for organizational implementation.
