A guest lecture was held in Department of Biotechnology for B.Tech, M.Tech and M.Sc Biotech students on 24.03.2015 from 10.00am to 11.30 am at AT-15-16, Seminar Hall, A Block, 3rd Floor, FET, MRIU.
The speaker Dr. Neerja Hajela, Head-Science Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd delivered the lecture on ‘Role of probiotics in health and disease’. Probiotics is currently the talk of the hour owing to their varied benefits with respect to healthcare industry. Dr. Neerja apprised the audience about all aspects of probiotics including their origin, types, benefits, applications and current market scenario in Indian and International market. The students received the lecture with extreme enthusiasm and interest. The entire session was highly interactive as students posed a number of queries regarding different issues related to probiotics. The lecture ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Pratibha Prashar, Assistant Professor, BT.

The lecture was attended by all the faculty members and 78 students of Department of Biotechnology.
