Guest Lecture on ‘Application of Matrices: In Cryptography and Quantum Computing’ by Dr. Bhupendra Singh
The Department of Mathematics, Manav Rachna University organized a guest lecture on ‘Applications of Matrices: In Cryptography & Quantum Computing’. Dr. Bhupendra Singh, Senior Scientist in Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Research (CAIR), DRDO, Bangalore was the Guest Speaker.
Dr. Aparna Vyas, Associate HOD, Mathematics welcomed the guest & audience. Dr. Deepa Arora, Head, Department of Mathematics introduced the speaker followed by the introduction of the University, its Vision, Mission, and its accomplishments.
Dr. Bhupendra Singh started his talk with the applications of Matrices in Cryptography & Quantum Computing. He detailed the importance of Cryptography in day-to-day life and explained how the information can be kept secret from others be it, friends or adversaries. He familiarized students with the goals of cryptography including the CIA that is Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability. Dr. Singh also highlighted the usage of Cryptography as encryption and decryption functions, code-based PQC algorithm, perfect security, diffusion in-stream/block ciphers.
The overall talk enriched the students and faculty with the current Applications of Mathematics in the Areas of Cryptography & Quantum Computing. Renowned Professor Dr. Shakir Ali from Aligarh Muslim University graced the session with his presence and detailed discussion on questions. Dr. Singh humbly and satisfactorily answered the queries. Dr. Singh concluded his talk by suggesting the future research aspects and invited M.Sc. Mathematics students for projects & collaborations.
In the end, the session was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Aparna Vyas, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, MRU.
