Guest Lecture by Mr. Sandeep Marwah, Regional Business Head- North & East Metro Cash and Carry, Gurgaon
Students of BBA Finance and Accounts, BBA Entrepreneurship and Family Business and BBA Healthcare Management, Department of Management and Commerce, MRU attended a Guest Lecture on the topic- “Various Aspects of Retail”. The speaker was Mr. Sandeep Marwah, Regional Business Head- North & East, Metro Cash and Carry, Gurgaon organized by Prof, Jaideep Singh, Director Industry-Interface and HoD Department of Humanities & Language, MRU.
Mr Marwah, a seasoned professional with a demonstrated track record of delivery across multiple Industries – Consumer Goods (Cosmetics, Personal care, Confectionery, Stationery), Retail (Small and large format Super Markets/ Hypermarket, Lifestyle Stores), Telecom (Operator), Cash and Carry in functional areas of – Marketing, Sales and Distribution, Enterprise Sales , Business Operations. He is a senior professional with verifiable year-after-year success in start-up and rapid change environments. He has extensive experience in marketing FMCG and Telecom distribution, Enterprise sales, Strategy Formulation, Product Development, Operations and having worked across all geographies in India. Mr. Marwah has the ability to lead and inspire large multi-disciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
He had been invited to share his experiences and deliver a lecture on the rise in consumerism, and growth of private labels. He explained the impact of globalization on retail. He shared the figures of fortune 500 companies and gave an insight into the retail in India. He briefed about the three formats i.e. Traditional Format, Established Format, and Emerging Format. He mentioned the requirement in Retail Sector such as Buying and Merchandising, Marketing, Store Operation, Sales, Human Resources, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Data Analytics, Visual Merchandising, IT sector, CRM, Relationship Management, Property and Real Estate and Projects.
Post his session he took the questions of the students. The session was highly interactive and motivating for the students. The session ended with a Vote of Thanks by Prof (Dr) Rajat Gera HoD Department of Management & Commerce, MRU.
