Guest Lecture by FAS Alumna
Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, FAS, MRIIRS organized a guest lecture on ‘Holistic Nutrition Approach’. The speaker was Alumna ‘Ms Surbhi Gandhi’ who is now a Holistic Nutrition Coach. During the lecture, she emphasized the role of holistic approach in nutrition and health. According to her, stress, meditation, sleep and social behaviour of a person also have an impact on human health which indirectly affects the nutritional metabolism, and hence health and wellness. She also shared her life experiences in terms of placement and job opportunities in nutrition which would surely be beneficial for students in their future.
After the lecture, a poster and slogan competition was conducted as part of CLAN activity in which students prepared posters and slogans on the theme ‘Mother Earth’/CLAN. The students highlighted several environmental issues such as water conservation, wildlife conservation, pollution etc through their creative work. The competition was judged by Ms Kalpana, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, and Dr Shalini Grover, Associate Professor, Department of Physiotherapy.
Ms Tejaswi (Water Sharks) M.Sc 1st year bagged the first prize in poster competition followed by Ms Jaswinder Kaur (Wild Cats) B.Sc. 1st year and Ms Gargi Khari (Air Falcon) M.Sc 1st year. In the slogan competition, Ms Aarzoo (Forest Rhinos) B.Sc 1st year stood first, Ms Kajal Mishra (Wild Cats) and Ms Akansha Mishra (Wild Cats) from M.Sc 1st year stood second and Ms Renu Rana (Forest Rhinos) from B.Sc 1st year bagged the third position.
