Global Bio-India Summit 2019
The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India along with its Public Sector Undertaking, Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) organized Global Bio-India 2019 from 21st -23rd November 2019 at Exhibition Grounds, Aerocity New Delhi.
The associated partners for this event were Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE) and Invest India. The three-day event was a representation of entire biotechnology stakeholders to national and international community.
The event saw 190 exhibitors, 2500+ delegates, 25+ countries, 100+ start-ups, 50+ incubators, 60+ Research Institutes, 800+ business meetings scheduling and representation from 9 states. There were over 60 government, research and educational institutions that took part in the event.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Hon’ble Union Minister for Science and Technology, Health and Family Welfare and Earth Sciences and the Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Shri Dharmendra Pradhan with Dr. Renu Swarup, Secretary DBT and Chairperson BIRAC.
2 abstracts from the Department of Biotechnology, FET, MRIIRS got selected for poster presentation in the event. Both abstracts were exempted of registration fees of around Rs 30000 (For 5 members).
The 1st abstract was titled, “UTILIZATION OF DAIRY WASTE TO PRODUCE ENZYME-X AS FOOD SUPPLEMENT” by Merin Philip, Goldy, Shambhavi Mishra (1st M. Tech), A. Parul Sarma and Chhavi Jain (3rd B. Tech students) mentored by Dr. Joseph Davis, Professor of Biotechnology, FET, MRIIRS. The 2nd abstract was titled, “SMART BIOCLEANER” by Chhavi Jain, Dipansh Srivastava, Anas Khan (3rd B. Tech students) mentored by Dr. Soma Patnaik, Assistant Professor, FET, MRIIRS. Both posters were well received by eminent scientists, Academicians and other participants.
