Fresher’s Party for new First Year students with a colourful cultural extravaganza
The new batch of Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) students at MRIU got a whole new feel of the Manav Rachna way of life as they were welcomed with open arms to the Freshers party NOVA KOMENCO -Fresher’s 2016 that was organized particularly for them by the IInd year FET students. NOVA KOMENCO which means ‘The New Beginning’. As many as 700 students participated in the event and showcased their talent in the field of dance, singing and musical band etc.
Gracing the occasion was a host of senior functionaries of the University–Dr. N. C. Wadhwa , Vice Chancellor , MRIU; Dr. M.K. Soni, Executive Director and Dean, FET, MRIU; Mr. R. K. Arora, Registrar, MRIU; Prof. I. K. Kilam, Dean Students Welfare and Director, Radio Manav Rachna; Dr. Pradeep K. Varshney, Associate Director, FET and all the HODs. With a pulsating ambience, flashing decor and foot tapping music, the party had all the ingredients of fun and entertainment. Dr. N. C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU, Chief Guest of the Event addressed the students and gave his heartiest greetings and some significant advice to them. Also, Dr. M.K. Soni welcomed the freshers and told them that Freshers Party marks a beginning in the lives of the new comers and it is all about making the best start to the new academic year.
Senior Students dedicated some joyful performances to their juniors. The Freshers joined in the cultural extravaganza and were thrilled with the cheering and encouragement. In course of the journey for the selection of Ms. & Mr. Fresher, 2016, various competitions like Ramp walk, talent show and question-answer rounds were held. The Judges had a difficult time deciding on the winners as the Freshers came up with some amazing performances. Finally, Ms. Meenakshi (ECE) and Mr. Vatsal Khare (CSE) were declared the winners of Ms. And Mr. Fresher 2016. While Anjali Sharma (BAO-CSE) and Harshit (Mechanical) were selected as the best dressed female and male respectively; Abhishek Raj (ECE) bagged the Best Performer of the day title. The FET Freshers party ended on a note of immense positivity infusing the new students with confidence and pride in their college.
