Fresher’s Orientation Programme
Manav Rachna University welcomed engineering students with ‘Art of Living session which was conducted by Ms. Rohit Ranjan (Program Coordinator, Youth Affairs, Delhi NCR and Jammu & Kashmir). This was followed by a Yoga Session where students were taught about the benefits of meditation and discuss various yoga postures which helps in keep them fit in day to day life.
First-year Mechanical Engineering students of Manav Rachna University engaged in the manufacturing of aeroplane model with the use of nylon materials during induction programme. Manufacturing various parts gave students practical exposure to conventional machining in the machine shop. Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering apprise the students of the function of basic electronic components like resistor, capacitor, LED, breadboard, power supply etc. Basic concepts of Arduino and IoT were also taught. Students of Computer Science and Engineering were given extensive training on MS Office (MS Excel, Power Point and Word).
Literary activities were also conducted which began with Ad-Mad competition wherein the students presented an impromptu advertisement in a group of 6, on the product given to them. The enthusiasm and creativity of the students added to a major success. This was followed by group discussion wherein students were exposed to public speaking. The topics were highly appreciated by the students and their views did justice to the topic.
A story-telling competition was also conducted wherein each student was given 15 minutes to write a story on the theme provided to them and best 10 stories were presented in front of the audience. This activity shed light on the writing and speaking skills of the students. The winners were awarded with a gift hamper. Overall, the event was a huge success.
