Free Health Check-up Camp by Department of Nutrition & Dietetics & Physiotherapy
Department of Nutrition & Dietetics & Physiotherapy, FAHS, MRIIRS recently held a health camp at DAV Police Public School, Sector 30 Faridabad, Haryana, to provide free health check-up. Dr. Ankita Sharma & Dr. Irshad Ahmed (Physiotherapists) and Ms. Vandana Garg & Ms. Srishti Negi (Nutritionists) and postgraduate students conducted the camp. The respected team of physiotherapy, nutrition, and dietetics inspected and advised 200 students studying in Grades 1 to 10, and 30 teaching and non-teaching staff members. Some teachers were experiencing pain in their knees, backs, and necks. Many of them complained about musculoskeletal problems. Students’ general fitness and nutritional intake were assessed. Individual lessons were discussed, essential dietary information, available stretching exercises, and the dos and don’ts of necessary nutritional information.
Ms. Deepika, the school coordinator, and Ms. Hema, the principal, provided a warm welcome and a conducive environment for the camp to be held. After debates on the outcomes of the data collected, we would like to follow up with this school. The goal of the health camp was to make a positive shift in the daily routine by including a healthy, varied diet and physical activity.
