Faculty of Management Studies organized a session on team interaction with Mr. Rajiv Kapoor, ED & CEO-Group HR, Minda Industries Ltd. Mr. Kapoor is an esteemed member of Manav Rachna Strategic Mentoring Board and is an expert in the areas of people management, HR, and legal issues and leadership. He has previously been associated with JCB, G4S, and Fortis Healthcare. He shared insights on areas where FMS as a team can work towards taking the department forward. The session started with the faculty introduction wherein faculty shared their areas of expertise and experience. Mr. Rajiv Kapoor shared on how the learning curve has shortened and need to learn and adapt quickly to the changes. 

He shared that on the faculty front, the focus should be on upgrading the knowledge by doing industry-specific certifications and joining FDP. Also, effort should be put towards updating the knowledge by joining international/national seminars and taking membership of industry bodies like CII, ACMA, FICCI, etc.

The exposure can be enhanced by teaching working professionals and faculty exchange programs. The faculty should challenge themselves by putting efforts to publish in IIT/IIM journals and taking consultancy projects. On the student front, he suggested students should join industry-specific certificates and internships along with the degree. Also, the focus should be on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills along with communication skills amongst students, the efforts should be to create a learning ecology by developing purpose-specific strong Industry-Academia tie-ups.

The session ended with a discussion on strategies and concrete steps that can be taken by FMS to work in the areas specified by Mr. Rajiv during the session, it was also decided that similar extensive sessions will be taken up in the coming days with him to take the discussion forwards and develop the roadmap for FMS.
