Five-Day FDP on ‘R programming for Biologists’
Department of Biotechnology, FET organized a five-day FDP on The FDP was inaugurated by Dr. Krishna Kant, ED & Dean FET, MRIIRS. The speakers were Dr. Rintu Kutum, Scientist, IGIB, New Delhi; Dr. Bapu Koundinya Desiraju, Medical Research Officier, IGIB, New Delhi; and Mr. Samarth Kulshrestha, Scientist, Sri Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi. Hands-on sessions were delivered by Dr. Rintu Kutum and Mr. Abhay Deep Panday, Research Scholar, MRIIRS. The FDP was attended by a total of 25 participants which included faculty members and research scholars from MRIIRS and Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth, Faridabad.
The FDP was designed to provide a theoretical background along with the hands-on practical training on R programming which is essential to understand and interpret biological data, in this OMIC era. Basic foundations in R programming were introduced to the participants with little or no background of coding which would facilitate them to interpret data. This FDP was intended for the faculty and Ph.D scholars.
The FDP was highly successful and provided a platform to all participants, faculty members and research scholars to impart, share and experience R programming. The FDP was highly appreciated by the participants.
