The First year students of BAJMC, Faculty of Media Studies and Humanities (FmeH) visited and participated in Lok Sabha TV show “Jan Paksh”. Topic of the show was “Social Media-How social”. The talk show discussed about experiences of youth as social participants and active citizens on various social media platforms and networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram which have become an integral part of our lives. More than 20 students participated in the show. 

The students had a great time as they learned about the intricacies and nuances of the industry and how a talk show is aired on Television. The session was interactive and the students participated in the talk show enthusiastically and asked questions about the advantages and disadvantages of social media. They also shared their experiences and discussed how social Media is preparing young generations with a range of benefits and opportunities to empower them in a variety of ways. How, social connections and support networks can be maintained. 

The Show concluded by establishing that Social Media plays a vital role in young people’s lives-delivering educational outcomes, facilitating supportive relationships, identity formation and in promoting self-esteem.
