Centre of Excellence on Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR) at the Faculty of Law, Manav Rachna University has conducted first of its many ADR training workshop sessions.

The first session was conducted by Advocate AVS Subramanyum, who has more than 19 years of arbitration experience, especially with Public Sector Undertakings under international contractual regimes.

With the conceptual framework that ADR has been a significant part of India’s ancient judicial dispense mechanism, Advocate Subramanyum took the participants on a journey of international evolution of ADR mechanism.

A large part of his workshop touched upon the practical relevance of ADR practices in the light of socio-legal conundrums emerging from the interaction between traditional litigation, the pendency of cases and rigid justice enforcement systems in India.

A mixed batch of law students and faculty members affiliated with CADR were stimulated by the role-play exercises and in-depth legal analysis of ADR regime in India from an international perspective. CADR plans to conduct such workshops regularly which would foster CADR vision’s to become the first of its kind training and research institute on ADR in India.
