Faculty Recharge Programme on ‘Consumer Behaviour’
The Fifth Faculty Recharge Programme (FRP) for the session was held on the topic ‘Consumer Behaviour’. The session was conducted by Dr. Narinder Tanwar and attended by faculty members of FCBS and faculty from other departments as well. The speaker was welcomed by the Coordinator and the topic was introduced.
The objective of the session was to create awareness among the audience about how the study of consumer behavior is important for a business. The speaker explained the concept of consumer behavior and decision making process of a consumer while purchasing. The speaker also explained how a business tries to influence the consumer’s decision making process by making a study on various environmental and personal/internal factors which have a direct or indirect impact on consumer buying behaviour. The various environmental factors such as cultural, social class, and social group were discussed during the presentation. In addition, it was also emphasized as to how the personal/internal factors affect consumer buying behavior.
A healthy discussion took place during the presentation when faculty members raised questions on cultural factors and social class and their impact on consumer buying behavior. The concept was well explained by the presenter with the help of real life examples.
The session kept the audience engrossed as they learned a lot about the topic. It was made interesting by colourful slides and live examples. The Coordinator appreciated the efforts of the speaker and delivered the vote of thanks along with a message for everyone to do their bit to make the environment eco-friendly.
