Faculty Development Programme organized in Manav Rachna International University on “Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Tools in Research”
A five-day Faculty Development Programme on “Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Tools in Research” is being organized under Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Engineering and Technology. The programme started with the welcome address by Dr. M.K. Soni, PVC, MRIU motivating all the faculty members. Dr. Dwijesh Mishra, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Scientist, Bioinformatics, IASRI and Dr. Usha Kiran, Director, Bioinformatics Institute of India, Noida were the key note speakers. The main areas of discussion in the FDP were Genome Assembly & NGS Data Analysis and Genomic resources used in research.
The main objective of the programme was to introduce with basic Biostatistics and Bioinformatics tools and methods to develop opportunities for interdisciplinary research and to support faculty and research scholars in successfully pursuing their research goals achieving full potential in scholarship, teaching and academic service. The technical sessions provided the participants with in‐depth knowledge about Bioinformatics starting from the basic concepts to the complexities of various biological problems and the challenges for researcher in solving them. Dr. Nidhi Didwania, Dr. Soma Patnaik, Ms. Rashmi Rameshwari and Dr. Rajesh Ghangal were the coordinators of the Faculty Development Programme.
