Expert Talk on Preparatory Steps to join IAF after B Tech
An expert lecture on the topic, ‘Preparatory steps to join IAF after B Tech’ was organized by the Aeronautical Engineering Department for the benefit of all the engineering students interested in Joining Indian Air Force after their UG course in Engineering on November 26, 2018.
The expert talk on preparation for joining Indian Air Force after B Tech to our engineering students was delivered by an Air veteran Squadron Leader RP Singh who besides long experience in IAF has also successfully guided several armed forces officers for SSB preparation for around 15 years.
The expert lecture began with the career prospects of engineers in IAF and insight into the selection process of Indian Air Force. The Air veteran deliberated in detail on various branches manning the IAF and their job requirements along with eligibility criteria. Various stages of the Service Selection Board (SSB) after passing the AFCAT exam and EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test) for selection in to the Indian Air Force were also discussed. There was a brief discussion about the manning and training details of Aeronautical Engineers in the Indian Air Force as well as a detailed discussion on PABT for joining the IAF as a pilot.
This provided an opportunity to all the aeronautical faculty and students to get acquainted with the various steps required to apply and prepare for qualifying the AFCAT, EKT and SSB in order to be successful in getting selected for joining IAF after B Tech.
