Expert Talk on “Need for Biostatistics in Health Research”
Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, FAHS organized an Expert Talk on “Need for Biostatistics in Health Research” recently. The objective of the specialist speech was to expand knowledge and insight of the primary research & statistics and provide a foundation of research to develop students; thoughts and ideas. The day’s speaker was Dr. Atul Juneja, Former Scientist F, ICMR. The event was organized to clear the basic concepts of biostatistics for research proposal development in upcoming semesters. Prof (Dr). Divya Sanghi (HOD) welcomes the guest with a sapling. The formal meeting started with Saraswati Vandana and was followed by a welcome speech by Dr. Lucy George, Associate Professor, N&D. Dr. Atul Juneja began the session by sharing his own experience in biostatistics and research through a PowerPoint presentation. The talk started with very comprehended
examples of basic research and research designs. He cited various examples from day to day life of students to make the students understand the concepts of sampling and data analysis.
The session ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. Ankita Sehajpal, Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics. Around 100 students and faculty members attended the lecture. The department of Nutrition and Dietetics is very thankful to Mr. Atul Juneja for sharing his biostatistics experience with students to bridge the gap between research and analysis.Attachments area
