The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies organized an Expert Talk by our notable alumni, Mr. Akshay Sangwan, Director (Development & Commercial), International Tractors Ltd. (ITL). He talked about ‘Career Progression in Manufacturing Industry’.

The event started with a welcoming note by Prof. (Dr.) Geeta Nijhawan, Associate Dean-FET, MRIIRS. She welcomed Mr. Akshay Sangwan and gave his introduction. She also said that manufacturing is a driving force and especially for mechanical engineers, enhanced knowledge of technology in current trends must be targeted.

Mr. Akshay Sangwan was excited to share his college experience and his roles and responsibilities as a Director. He showed a video that covered the plant layout, fieldwork, and the machines being used in Sonalika. He showed a versatile range of designs and tractors being manufactured and detailed step by step, initiating from raw material and design.

He cleared the doubt amongst students of growth in professional life, that is, mechanical engineers grow every day and learn every day. Lastly, he related his college life with students nowadays and guided them very well by saying commitment and time management are the main sources of success.

The session was concluded by a thank you note delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Nayak, HoD-ME, FET, MRIIRS. He thanked Akshay for his valuable time and for the effort he put in to motivate our students and share his knowledge.
