Event Grid Tech 2015
GRIDTECH is an international Exhibition and Conference which provides a platform to manufacturers/suppliers/academicians/consultants to showcase their State-of-the-Art technologies and products in the field of Transmission, Distribution, Smart Grid, Renewable Energy Integration, Communication etc. This biennial international event along with concurrent conference provides a unique opportunity for the power utilities, planners, policy makers, regulators, manufacturers, research institutions, academicians, consultants etc. to get exposed to emerging technologies in the above fields for various applications.
POWERGRID with the support of Ministry of Power and in association with CBIP and IEEMA conducted 5th International Exhibition and Conference GRIDTECH 2015 from 8th to 10th April 2015 at ITPO, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on new technology in the domains of Transmission, Distribution, Smart Grid, Renewable Energy Integration, Communication etc.. The exhibition and the concurrent summit was an excellent global networking opportunity for exhibitors, visitors and delegates. It has provided an opportunity for all companies to showcase their expertise in various domains of power sector & technology know-how for their awareness, appreciation and benefit of overall public sector as well as help them to identify business opportunities in the electricity market in India and abroad.
The exhibition was held on 8th-10th April 2015 at Hall No. 8,9,10 & 11 ITPO, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India.
Automobile Engineering Department Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Manav Rachna International University participated in the project competition at Grid Tech 2015
The dept participated with one of the project titled ‘Smart E Rickshaw’ in the event with objectives given below .
To make a safe means of transport that will be available to the common man.
To make an eco-friendly vehicle.
To harness solar energy.
In the designed and developed E-Rickshaw following new technology were incorporated
Use of Ultra capacitors.
Electronic gadgets (G.P.S tracking system, overloading sensing system, security system).
Solar charging system.
Gear chain drive mechanism.
The team was selected in 1st round on the basis of presentation and video film. A total of 40 teams were present at in this final round at Pragati Maidan. At the inaugural session at Pragati Maidan the project was displayed before Honorable Mr Piyush Goel Union Minister for Power Government of India. He appreciated the work done by the team and asked for commercialization of the technology. He further informed the team members that his ministry is ready to provide any kind of helping hand to such kind of innovative projects. The whole project was further displayed and demonstrated in front of Eminent Jury at Pragati Maidan on 8th April, 2015. Along with MRIU team others teams from institutions such as IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Khadagpur, Amity University etc participated in the event. The MRIU team stood third in the project display event at student innovation pavilion of the GridTech 2015 Pragati Maidan event.

1st Prize : 5 lacs
2nd Prize : 2.5 lacs
3rd Prize : 1 lac
4th Prize : consolation 10,000 for each 10 participants.
