Department of Students Welfare, Manav Rachna International University along withSACC (Startup Accelerator Chamber of Commerce) and Government  of Haryana organized an Entrepreneurship Sensitization Programme for motivating students to come up with their own business ideas and participate at Startup Weekend at Bootcamp Haryana Level.

The event initiated by lighting of the Startup torch and a welcome note by Prof. I.K Kilam, Dean Students Welfare. It was taken further by Mr. Sumeer Walia, Advisor cum Executive Director and co-founder, SACC who gave a brief introduction of Startups and their importance in recent times. He then opened the floor to students for forming teams and pitching their business idea in a span of 90 seconds, after providing a preparation time of 15 minutes. The 10 teams formed were judged by Mr. Chander Sharma (Founder & CEO Chander Sharma & Associates), Prof. I.K. Kilam (Dean Students Welfare) and Mr. Dev Kumar Dudeja – Assistant Prof. Mech –FET-MRIU.

Selected students from (FET, FMS, FCBS)MRIU & MRU worked in teams of 5 with full fervor and presented their business ideas on various fields like education, health, Child care, Environment and many more. 2 teams were selected for the Startup Weekend Bootcamp to be held at Gurgaon / Kurukshetra.
All in all, the event saw good participation and was a great learning experience where students were provided the platform to nurture their entrepreneurial skills.
Mr. Sumeer Walia and Mr.Chander Sharma  then invited students to participate with full enthusiasm in Startup week in Gurgaon and Kurukshetra University. The following 2 teams qualified for the zonal level.
