DSW : INTRA Solo Singing
As a part of pre-Fest Intra event, Department of Students Welfare organized a Solo Singing Competition on 23rd March 2015 at A Block Auditorium. 90 students participated in the event from different faculties and Institutes of Manav Rachna Educational Institutions and the hall was filled with an overwhelming crowd of 140 students with participants and the audience. The participants were allowed to sing in Hindi or English as it was a Western / Hindi Solo Singing Competition.
The event was set in motion by RJ Abhishek Chandila(3rd year student of FET and an RJ at Radio Manav Rachna) by welcoming the judges Mrs. Chandana Kapoor (HOD Music Department), MRIS CW and Mrs. Priyanka Verma, Asst. Professor, FCH, MRIU. Plentiful talent was showcased in the event and the judges started evaluating the participants on the criterias of voice modulation, pitch, voice quality and tempo. Professor I.K. Kilam, Dean Students Welfare, MRIU arrived as the guest of the event and observed the profound skills of various participants.
A competitive platform was set for the students where they showcased their talent and skills with their melodious voices in sync with the instruments and karaokes. Songs ranging from “Dil hai Chhota sa” to “You and I” from One Direction kept the crowd engaged in the tones and the melodies. A recent release Jeena Jeena from Badlapur was the hot favorite of the participants.
The event ended by 3:30 pm and everyone dispersed from the arena of music with mind blowing experiences to share.
