Discussion on “Swachh Bharat : Whose Responsibility?”
Faculty of Computer Applications (FCA), MRIIRS under the mentorship of Dr. S.S.Tyagi, Dean FCA and Dr. Shaveta Bhatia, HOD-CA organized a group discussion on the topic “Swachh Bharat : Whose Responsibility?”. A point of discussion: where passing the buck is not the solution but ownership was to be taken, not by one but by all the citizens.
More than 50 students volunteered and shared their views on the topic. A healthy discussion with varied viewpoints was raised by the anchor, Mr. Partheesh (BCA Student) covering meaning of Swachhta for an individual, Role of Industries, Organisations and companies, Educational Institutions, and Parents. Along with this, various do’s and dont’s, benefits, and consequences were discussed.
Students discussed their contribution and motivated other fellow friends for the same. They highlighted that social media is a channel to motivate others but action has to be taken by people only. ‘Don’t ignore wrong, if possible get it right. Reduce, Recycle, Reuse and Recovery of things will make country swachh’, they said.
Ms. Anjali Chauhan, MCA- V Semester bagged the 1st position, Ms. Anjali Baisla of B.Sc.-IT (III Semester) secured 2nd position and Mr. Himanshu Mavi of MCA (III Semester) got the 3rd position in Group Discussion.
Dr. S.S.Tyagi, Dean FCA motivated students to play their role and how every individual can surely bring a difference. Dr. Shaveta Bhatia, HOD-FCA applauded the efforts and viewpoints of the students and affirmed that only youth can bring the change if they develop a mindset of cleanliness is next to Godliness.
The program concluded with the vow “We will work and motivate others for Clean India, Strong India and will contribute Shramdaan of atleast 2 hours every week”.
