Day-1: Keynote Session 1(26th May 2022, 11:30 am to 12:15 pm)
Keynote Session 1 started at 11:30 am. Dr. Monika Garg welcomed the speaker. The session was delivered by Professor Rahul Banerjee, Director, LNMIIT Jaipur. He talked about ‘Mental Health Support and Injury Prevention in Sports: A Distributed Hybrid Intelligent System Approach”.
Dr. Rahul Banerjee spoke about mental health support and injury prevention in sports. He talked about how team members can undergo various mental health issues like anxiety, depression, etc. due to the very nature of their team interactions. These mental health issues can lead to various injuries. Thus, these mental health issues must be detected, and help is provided at the earliest. Dr. Banerjee spoke about how the identification of these mental health issues can be tricky. Another major problem in literature is that of acceptance that these people need psychological help. Another aspect is the ethical part regarding privacy. The technical aspects of the problem are the classification of an individual as having some mental health issue using a global or local dataset. Dr. Banerjee spoke about how the importance of a local dataset cannot be underestimated. A problem is getting patterns of interest in unstructured data and identifying elements, which would create value. Intelligent systems use hardware and software to collect this data, For example, sensory elements connected by networking support. We need a continuous live data feed to help experts analyze the data and identify patterns. This is of paramount importance since the ability of sportspersons to respond quickly depends on both mental and physical fitness. Towards the end of the session, a question was asked by a faculty member. The question was to what extent technology can help mitigate social stigma when it comes to mental health issues. The speaker responded by saying that since stigma is a societal issue there is only so much that technology can do in this regard and human intervention is of paramount importance to address this issue. Overall, the sessions were very informative and enlightening.
Day 1: Keynote Session 2 (26th May 2022, 12:45 p.m. to 1:50 p.m.)
Dr. Pallavi Goel welcomed the speaker. The session was delivered by Dr. Ankit Agrawal, Research Professor, Northwestern University, USA. The topic of his talk was “AI + HPC” for Accelerating Science. Dr. Ankit Agrawal introduced the participants to the fundamental concepts of Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, and Material Informatics. He explained the concept of Deep Convolutional neural networks with transfer learning for computer vision examples. He shared some research work in big data analytics, made the session quite interactive and understandable, and motivated the attendees to work on the suggested problems. He mainly focused on AI + HPC for Accelerating Science.

He talked about ‘Security and Privacy in Split Protocol”.
Bharat Rawal talked on some stringent critical parameters about security like “Everybody’s on the Internet, Everybody has the same access and there is no privacy actually. So what is the security of your data?” There are people who can prove the ownership of your data whatever you built. Another reason for security breach is because of globalizations and mainly the systems are open. Dr. Rawal talked in length about the architecture of split protocol, how it works and its open secrets, patching holes and new holes can be created. Security breach has been a problem everywhere and all energy, resources and money are spent on this single issue. Security problems are inherent in our current designs and internet.
Dr Rawal also suggested solutions to these security issues through application centric software ownership, not environment sensitive, App-App communication, No middleware, No OS and applying Green computing instead of dumping.
It was a truly great experience for all the researchers and participants who were in attendance offline and online. The expert talk was hereby concluded with felicitating the esteemed speaker with memento as a token of honor, followed by a vote of thanks.
