Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, FAS, MRIU organizes free health check-up camp for underprivileged in Sikri, Bahadurgarh
Manav Rachna International University, Faculty of Applied Sciences, has always been a front runner in providing a helping hand to any public initiative and community service. The major objective is to provide free physiotherapy treatment, nutrition counseling and fitness tips to the community with special emphasis to the unprivileged.
As a part of homage and tribute to the legendary Late Dr. O.P Bhalla, Faculty of Applied Sciences organized one day Health Camp to provide health check-up and treatment to people by physiotherapy and nutrition professionals. The dedicated professionals who attended the camp included Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur and Dr. Sheena, Graduate and Post Graduates of Physiotherapy and Nutrition & Dietetics Students.
A total of 51 people including adults and school children were counseled and advised by a team of Physiotherapy and Nutrition & Dietetics professionals. People who were part of the camp belonged to different age group and were having problems like knee, back and neck pain. People were counseled for diabetes, hypertension and obesity.
School children between 13 to 17 years of age were counseled for healthy eating habits and importance of hygiene. The dental department provided services such as tooth extraction, root canal and oral cancer screening among others.
Shri Kalyan Sharma, Legislator, Shri Shailender Singh, District Councillor and Shri Bhanak, welcomed the team warmly. Dr. O.P Bhalla Foundation wish to follow up at this village after deliberations at the findings of the data collected from the village and play a vital role in bringing a positive change in the lives of the people residing in Sikri.
