Department of Nutrition and Dietetics conducted a Healthy Recipe Competition
Under the National Nutrition Week 2017, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics conducted a Healthy Recipe Competition on 4th September 2017. The theme of the competition was ‘Healthy Snacks for Children’. As many as 20 students from various colleges- K.L Mehta Dayanand College; Manav Rachna International University; Amity University, Manesar; Shree Guru Govind Singh Tricentenary University participated in the event.
In line with the theme, handy and delicious recipes were prepared by the contestants using ingredients like flax seeds, oats, semolina, lentils, fruits, and vegetables. The competition was judged by Dr. Sushil Kumar Saluja, Director, Hospitality and Hotel Management, Ms. M. Bokil, Nutritionist and Dr. Renuka Pathak, Associate Professor, FAS.
The winning recipe was a Semolina Chila made by a postgraduate student of Manav Rachna International University while the 1st runner up was from Amity University who prepared Lettuce rolls. The 2nd runner up was from K.L. Mehta Dayanand College and the recipient had prepared pinwheels sandwiches of spinach and beetroot. Two prizes for commendable efforts were given to K.L. Mehta Dayanand College and to Shree Guru Govind Singh Tricentenary University.
