Dentistry Abroad: Prospects in Southeast Asia
The Department of Orthodontics, MRDC Faridabad on February 13th, 2020 organized a Lecture on “Dentistry abroad: Explore opportunities near South East Asia”for the Final year, Interns, PG students and faculty.Dr. RiddhiChawla,Assistant Professor: Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics Faculty of Dentistry, Penang International Dental College, Malaysia, was the esteemed guest speaker for the event. This lecture was aimed at broadening the perspective of future prospects of under-graduate, postgraduate students as well as current practitioners to help them get an insight into the opportunities available in South East Asian countries.
The event began with the welcome message by Dr. Arundeep Singh, Principal, MRDC and Dr.Sridhar Kannan, Professor and HOD Dept. of Orthodontics, MRDC followed by the lecture where the speaker commenced by explaining the need and opportunities of dentists in countries abroad like Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. The basic educational qualifications and work experience required to apply for work abroad was made clear. Also the curriculum covered in the colleges abroad was elucidated to the students and faculty members present. A short interactive session also clarified the pattern and type of questions which are presented to students in colleges abroad. This was followed by an open question and answer session with the audience regarding any scepticism regarding the overall opportunities and practices abroad. The session concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr.Sridhar Kannan.
